For their wedding, Ilaria and Giandomenico chose Santissima Annunziata in Vico Equense. A pink church on the edge of the cliff, high above the sea, with the whole bay in front of it.
The sky that day was perfectly clear.
First, the details. His shoes, the cufflinks, the watch. Room 309, friends in orange, pale blue and champagne, three little girls in flower crowns and two page boys. The dress fastened button by button.
Then the church. Giandomenico turning to watch her arrive. The rings, with a page boy in the front row. The kiss, rice on the church steps.
Outside, a white Fiat 500 was waiting. Then the railing above the sea, with the church behind them.
The party was at Scrajo. Megaphones on arrival, hydrangeas on the tables, Vesuvius across the water. Sunset over the rocks, a kiss on the hand. Then the guitar, napkins twirling in the air, songs at the microphone. The bouquet caught mid-air, the cake, the bay lit up at night.
Style, energy and feeling.
All I had to do was keep up.
Another wedding at Scrajo: Alessandra & Alessio.
